<image:title>Counselling Services For Adults - Integrating the body into Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>My passion for incorporating the body into therapy began prior to starting Graduate School, when I was studying yoga and meditation and personally experienced the powerful connection and healing potential in therapy. The training I have completed in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy addresses body, emotions, and thoughts to promote physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Information in the body and mind that often remains unconscious in traditional therapy can be revealed. In my experience, and when appropriate, integrating the body into therapy can deepen the changes made and expand one’s capacity to become aware of and be with emotions, impulses to move, and physical sensations. I am also learning and integrating principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), an approach that views the mind as made up of different “parts”, each with its own feelings and roles. IFS offers a non-pathologizing, compassionate way to explore inner experiences and build a relationship with the calm, centred Self that exists within each of us.</image:caption>
